Duke's Concept

The concept behind Duke's Backyard began with the Lora Bett's, the owner of the business, personal experience and difficulty finding good daycare in Kansas City for her dogs. Lora's inspiration was her dog named Duke.  The thing that made her the most happy was spending time with him.  She wanted to take him to work with her every day. .  So she created and designed Duke's Backyard as a playground for dogs - a place where they can play, sleep or just chew on a bone if they like - all in an open kennel-free environment. Her love for animals has blossomed into a booming business of boarding and of breeding.  Once you meet her you can tell that she really loves what she is doing.  She has a special way with animals that is truly and honestly a gift from above.
