.Duke's
Why choose Duke's
Since we are not a corporation we
can cater to all of our clients special needs for no extra
charge. For example, a few months ago we were on call day or
night for Toby since his dad needed a transplant. We have
clients who have all kinds of medical conditions from allergies to
seizures. We are all about getting to know
your dog and it's needs. We have one Great Dane, Banya, that
won't eat unless I hand feed her. We know what dogs to match up
that will get along great together. I basically become a second
mom to a lot of my clients.
Since I am here almost 24hour a
day I can make any dog feel more at ease with some special attention
and love. I always recommend a day or two of daycare, before the trip,
for any clients who seem to be a little uneasy or one who has never
been boarded before. This helps them to get to know me and the
fact that Duke's is a fun place to come. A large percent of
clients have rescued there dogs from shelters or have never boarded
them because they didn't want to put them in a cage.
The only health issue we have
here is the occasional upset tummy. I attribute that to the fact
that we are very strict about the health of the dogs before they
arrive. Then when they are here they don't have to deal with the
stress of constant barking, not being able to play with there friends,
or any aggressive dogs. The stress can do wonders to a dogs
health during a stay. We also use pet safe cleaners that are SO
SAFE I can drink it. We have only had one case of kennel cough
in the five years we have been open.
The Mission of Duke's Backyard
At Duke's Backyard, we recognize that your dog can feel strained
while you are away so we strive to make your dog feel at home playing
at Duke's Backyard. Our open-kennel environment allows your pet to
freely interact with the staff and other dogs helping with separation
anxiety and social skills. The environment stimulates their mind and
body, contributing to a happier and healthier dog for you upon your
return.

Your Dog Will Love Playing at
Duke's Backyard
All guests in Duke's Backyard get the same clean, climate-controlled,
carefree, loving environment. The play area was designed to promote
safe social interaction with the look and feel of a backyard. As part
of the open-kennel environment, we don't have separate daycare and
boarding areas. Boarded dogs play with the daycare dogs during the day
with no additional charge. We have five different play room were we
separate them by size and temperament. We have five different play rooms so we can separate
the dogs by size and temperament. We normally have a relaxation
room for older dogs. A little dog room for dogs under 20
lbs. The ruff and tumble room is for the large very active
dogs. Then we sometimes have a soft play room for dogs who don't
play as ruff, or a very large dog room for big dogs like Great Danes,
or a medium size dog room. We have 24-hour care and supervision to
